Family Planning 2

Hey there! I hope your year is going well? Mine went from being on a roll to a sudden dip but I am fighting off the remnants of the fog that came with things not working my way for a bit.😊
So let’s get straight to it,shall we?
I decided like I said in the first part of this post to adopt the copper intra uterine device ,it is non- hormonal and does not interfere unduly with the menstrual cycleor body system.
I have worn the copper IUD for about 5 years now.
The process is really quite straight forward. I went to my hospital of choice and I was required to run a pregnancy test to ensure there was no bun in the oven. That done,I laid the same way you would when getting a pap smear or having a gynae to examine you and in less than 5 minutes,it was a done deal. There was no pain,a little discomfort.

Thereafter, the nurse required that I wash my hands thoroughly with an antiseptic soap and asked me put in whatever finger felt comfortable to feel around for the rope hanging into my vaginal cavity and learn to tuck the rope into a corner. It felt weird but I did it all the same.

I was given a few tabs to take to prevent infection of any type from the new IUD. The first 1 week was funny as I kept feeling the rope slip out and I could feel the prickly end poking me. I went back there to ask if the rope could be trimmed😃. They checked and said it was fine and did not need to be trimmed.

However one of the nurses there was kind enough to ask if I had ever had a vaginal delivery and when I said no,she said that may be the reason. In her words,” women who have had vaginal deliveries have more corners to tuck in their ropes” I went back home and learned to tuck in my rope till it found a corner to settle into,LOL.
I don’t have any problems with the IUD. After the first year that is,the first year,Lord! I suffered huge boils on almost every part of my body. I am not prone to boils. Before the IUD,I had only ever had boil once my whole life, when I was about 7years.
However, about 6 weeks after I had the IUD inserted,I suffered painful boils. Sometimes,I would have 3 at once. On my nose,in my armpit,on my shin,on my pubic region,on the lip of my vagina,ah! Boils o! Chai I suffered.

I think I should stop here o,I really did not want to have a third post but it is now inevitable. I’ll do one last post and that should be it.

Do have a great week and please,be happy while at it.❤
