Single versus Married(2)
Happy New Year good people😀I hope the year 2017 brings us all good tidings and may the year be filled with goodness and many victories in Jesus’ name, amen!
So,I was saying https://yettysbits.com/single-versus-married-1/ when I was single,I had time for myself,I had time to have ‘brood days’ I generally just had me to care about,I didn’t worry so much as to whether I needed to cook or I could sleep all weekend instead. Fast forward to now😓I am married and I have not just Mike but two other people in my ‘immediate jurisdiction’ to worry about,I love to cook but the difference is now I can’t just cook whatever catches my fancy,I have to cook with everyone in mind and cook 2-3 times a day depending on what day of the week it is.
Then the waking up early,O lord!I think this is the biggest change I have had to make,I am not a morning person, never been, never will be,I love to sleep in,I stay up late into the mornings most nights but with two kids who have a natural alarm clock of 6amðŸ˜,Even on Saturdays,I am not allowed to sleep in,I am woken up every weekday by my alarm clock at 5am and every weekend by shrieks of “mummy,we are hungry, get up and cook”😒
Then I have always been a fiercely independent person,I had to soft pedal as “two has become one” I cannot just take decisions and do whatever I like anymore, thankfully,Mike and I agree on things 80% of the time so that has not been such a huge task.
However as for books and movies,I honestly cannot say the last time I had the time to read a hard copy of any book or sit and watch a movie from start to finish without interruption of any kind.I have not read a novel in over 4 years and watching movies is now a luxury😑 Then window shopping and roaming the markets?I have not had time to do that in years,I dash in and dash out,I try to do bulk buying ad much as possible so that my trips to market, super marts are as few and quick as possible, now I long for time, like a whole day to just roam the market without thinking about time and how long I have been in the market. Hanging out with friends is mostly done over chats and phone conversations on the go.
Why am I saying all these?to my single friends,no matter your age, this is the time to enjoy and do all the things you enjoy doing, trust me,you will not have ‘time’ to do a lot of those things once you are married and start a family😊Enjoy being alone, enjoy eating out, enjoy reading, enjoy peace and quiet on weekends. Being married ,being a parent is a lot of work o jare😂😂😂. Some people say they don’t miss being single, well,me I miss it o,call police for me😀 Really, life is in phases and some don’t need as much work as others, some are dependent on just you while other phases like being married is not up to just you. Thankfully,I am married to my ‘besty’,if not ,I would probably have thrown in the towel a long time ago😂😂😂. This is me,saying to you,it is a brand new year😀#Behappy#
