The Little Things



Hello! How are you today? I hope you had a pleasant night’s rest? My night was good . I had an early night.

All week,I had been wanting to wash my hair and get a pedicure but I didn’t have the time through the week. However,yesterday was almost a free day for me. I worked for just about 4 hours and then I finally got to get to the saloon.
I have always said washing my hair is therapeutic for me. Even if I am in the worst mood ever,there is just something about washing my hair that makes me relaxed and content.
Perhaps it is the soothing feel of water running through my scalp and through the locs on my head or it is the hands running through it,I don’t exactly know which but washing my hair does great things for me,reason I never go two weeks maximum without washing my hair😊

It also doesn’t really matter if it is cold or hot water,both work for me,however I have found that hot water cleans my hair better.
So yes, yesterday I had my pedicure done,my hair washed and also darkened as I have brownish hints at about 3 inches away from my tips to the tips of my hair. Residue from my days of experimenting with coloured hair dyes. I don’t care much for hair colour anymore.

After washing my hair,having my pedicure and having my toes painted,I saw this glassy beads that they use for braids adornment in the saloon.
I like having cowries in my hair but I have not found a way to attach them that does not disrupt my locs so I thought to myself,why not beads?😁

I got 12 of the glassy beads,attached them myself 2 at the tip of each loc and then knotted the end of the locs. It feels like fun and I was just generally happy to have had that saloon visit.
I was saying to someone how amazing it is that little things like having your hair washed thoroughly and attaching beads to your hair can make your whole day much better.

The thing is,life gets hard sometimes,adulthood and generally surviving in this times and clime can be hard and stressful. However,you must find your “little things”;the seemingly insignificant things you do that make you feel much better about everything.
The Little Things like taking some minutes for yourself to just sit still in peace and quiet, the little things like washing your hair, getting a haircut,a spa treatment,reading a book,taking a long,leisurely walk,sharing a moment with a close friend over ice-cream,sharing a laugh with your kid(s)or partner and so on.

They may seem like insignificant stuff but these things generally contribute to your feeling of well being from time to time,they are like a cooing mechanism that we just take for granted.

These things will vary from person to person,it does not really matter what it is,just find what your own little thing is and do it from time to time,it will make life just a little better for you😊
