Things My Father Taught Me
The last couple of days have been hectic, it has been from one issue to the other.I came into 2018 promising to start a journal, so far, that has not been going well, I bought the fancy hardcover book I wanted to keep my journal with, however, I have not made out time to put anything in it, ideas flow in my mind everyday but to seat and put them down is proving more difficult than I thought it would be*sigh*
So to make it a little bit easier for myself,I started out yesterday by putting together some of the things my father either by words or by actions inculcated in me(I am sure you can tell by now that I am a daddy’s girl…he he he),some of those things have never left me and I have been ruminating over them a lot lately.I am just going to share the ones that have formed and shaped me and the way I do things, not all of them are from my father, but as I grew older and experienced life,I began to agree with some of them, adjust and modify some of them to my beliefs and thought processes and they are listed as follows in no particular order.
*Treat others how you would have them treat you
*Respect is reciprocal
*You cannot know everything, open your mind to learning from others
*A soft answer turns away wrath
*Kindness is a language that is understood universally
*Listen, you just might learn a thing or two
*Do not let anyone tell you who you are, choose who you want to be and work towards being that person
*What will be,will be
*Choose to see the good in people, you may not find it immediately, but everybody has some good in them
*Build yourself, develop your mind, prepare yourself and work for the life you want.
*Trust God,every other thing will fall in place.
With these few points of mine,I hope I have been able to convince you that your character and attitude is important to the kind of life you eventually live…LOL.
Live and remember to be happy.
