When I was a child (1)

For some reason,I was thinking back to my childhood. I had a fun and wonderful childhood, being the last born,my older siblings always say I had it easy, maybe I did.😝

So I was thinking about this particular day,you know that blue stove that had two burners, it used to use an upside down bottle of kerosene or something like that? That stove was the toast of all wives thenπŸ˜€πŸ˜€. Back then,my mum used to buy a lot of meat, fish and different types of protein sha. She had those wire baskets that she would store them and hang them over the stove. This particular day,she had bought some meat, per boiled them and sauced them, she hung them over the stove and me I was just passing . Our kitchen then had a back door that we all preferred to use to go in and out of the house, the stove was on one side of the kitchen and there is no way you will pass by that kitchen and not see the stove.

On that fateful day,I was passing and I saw the basket hanging over the pot,it was dripping oil ,oil from the fish and meat, chei! I saw this small piece of fish, sticking out in one corner of that basket,it looked really moist and ready to eat. I almost passed but you know how when “shigidi wants to te” abi?I came back and started trying to remove that small piece,I was salivating,I just had to have it! I tried and tried to get it out with my little finger,it just wouldn’t budge. I tried using q stick of broom from the ‘ijabe’ my mum used for ewedu soup, the thing was proving difficult,I tugged and tugged until I heard gbigidiiii😱😱 Yeeee… The basket fell yaka yakata! That was not the major problem, the thing is that there was a freshly cooked pot of egusi soup on that stove for our Sunday lunch, the basket fell on the pot,the pot overturned, egusi soup for Sunday pounded yam all over the floor😭😭😭

See ehn,let us not discuss the things that followed that egusi all over the floor, just know that till this day,I never forgot what long throat can do to somebody. And that ladies and gentlemen was my first major lesson in self control!

Till next time,it is me saying to you,”greed is dangerous, wayo na sabotage, long throat e nor good o…”Β  Be happy!😘
